Our 4-week introductory tango course gets you up and dancing socially. You'll make friends and have fun! It is designed for absolute beginners.

Our Feb-Mar 2026 course is best suited to people aged 35-50 years old*. However, people of all ages can learn to dance tango and are always warmly welcomed at the Tango Social Club of Canberra.

You don't need any experience. You don't need a partner.

Why tango? Tango is a dance based on walking. If you can walk you can tango. It is more than just the steps you learn. Tango is about sharing a connection with another person. Forget what you have seen of tango in movies. Tango is a social dance, one that is more interesting and accessible than what you may have seen performed or shown on screen. Come and find out for yourself. It's a great way to meet people and make friends.
