Milongas

Join us for the club's annual christmas milonga! This year we return to our favourite lakeside venue, the YMCA Sailing Club. You're also in for a treat with live music provided by Canberra's own tango band 'Los Jovenes del Tango'. The dress theme is 'red or sparkle' with a prize for the person who best combines both themes (without resorting to wrapping themselves in red tinsel).
 
Festivities kick off from 7pm with drinks and dinner on the deck. Please bring a plate to share (sweet or savoury). There will be a free glass of champagne or wine for everyone who arrives before 8pm (or until supplies run out).
 
Dancing commences from 8pm, with DJ Brett playing a selection of traditional and newer tangos. Los Jovenes will join us later in the evening to play their fresh, vibrant arrangements of traditional and alternative tango tunes. Los Jovenes were a huge hit at BASH with comments such as 'they're the most danceable tango band in Australia' being heard on the dance floor, so if you missed them at BASH (or just want to hear them again), don't miss them now!
 
Entry prices are $10 members/ $15 non-members - where else would you get live music, water views, great company and over 4 hours of tango for that kind of price!

Saturday afternoon practica will also be relocated to the YMCA with an earlier timeslot of 1-3pm. If you can stay on for half an hour or so, we'd really appreciate some help setting up :-)
